About Best Home Decorators
The excitement of decorating homes goes back for generations in my family.
It started with my grandfather Sol Kraiem who hustled his family small businesses in Egypt before migrating to NYC in 1952. The energy of the city inspired this ambitious, talented and hardworking young man. Upon his arrival, he started to help in his uncle’s retail shop. He soon proved to be an extraordinary character. His incredible sensibility to understand the individual needs of each customer, his humor, high energy, and the knowledge of the products available, made him the favorite of the patrons. He soon multiplied the revenue of the shop. His uncle was so impressed with his talent that he offered him a partnership in the business.
That’s how he started his first shop in the same year. It was the Royal Art Gallery that he opened up in Manhattan, in the midtown section of Broadway. This stunning shop was the fruit of his labor: he was passionate about selling the most beautiful pieces he could bring to his clients. His business ties to Egypt, Italy, and other parts of the world helped him to get exquisite pieces at an affordable range. The Royal Art Gallery occupied three levels – two of them were opened to the public – offering high-end furniture and decorative items of the finest quality. Over the 30 years in business, the store became the Mecca for those who were looking for unique pieces to decorate their homes. The floors exhibited magnificent Italian and French furniture, ravishing Persian carpets, and the shelves bowed under Austrian crystals, porcelain from Dresden, Meissen, figures of Lladro, and Hummel.
As time went by the rising real estate market made more and more difficult to keep the core value of our business: remain dedicated to our loyal clientele – that we built over decades of excellent service.
We love what we do: helping our clients to find the most beautiful pieces to decorate their home or business at the best price. It became impossible to do this in Manhattan: we needed to change. It was a difficult decision, but as time showed us, we did the right move. Many of our customers followed us to our new location.
We were very lucky finding a large floor available at the Brooklyn Army Terminal. The terminal has easy access and free parking space. In this sprawling warehouse, we display our wonderful selection of handmade, traditional & antique styles furniture, carpets, statues, lighting, porcelain ware and other high-end home accessories.
Over the years we have been cultivating our relationship with grandpa’s roots. We regularly travel to Egypt and other countries and personally select our merchandise. If you visit us you can stumble upon absolutely unique pieces that you can not find anywhere else.
In addition to weekdays, we are also open on Sundays for your convenience. Don’t hesitate to call us if you have any questions. We look forward to helping you!
